Primer
The Magic of Music Theory Primer workbook series is for the beginning violinist, violist or cellist who has learned to play by ear and is beginning to read music on the staff. Each lesson is structured to reinforce concepts already learned on the instrument. Lessons are designed to be completed at home with the student’s practice partner. This level is for the student age 6-9 who has finished Suzuki Book 1 and has begun reading notes on the staff.

"What do you hear?" Tracks
To access audio tracks for the “What do you hear?” aural skills pages, we provide 2 options. You can download a zip file with an mp3 track for each page. The track plays the question, gives the student time to answer, and then gives the answer. This gives the student immediate feedback to help them learn.
MP3 Tracks
To download the tracks, click on the album cover, or button. Select “save” or “download” to your device. After opening the zip file you can access all the tracks.
YouTube Playlist/Podcast
The “What do you hear?” audio tracks are also available on YouTube. The QR code on the workbook page will take you to the YouTube playlist for you to select the correct page. You can also access the playlist by clicking on the YouTube button under each album cover.

This pdf file contains the removable pages in color for the Primer level. Teachers and parents may use this pdf file to print the flashcards, parts of the violin clip cards, and music note bowling, and two of ear training exercises rather than remove them from the book.
