Angels We Have Heard on High

Description

A spunky arrangement for the an intermediate to late intermediate pianist of Angels We Have Heard on High. This arrangement is in the key of C and begins in 4/4 and then moves to 6/8. Two measures of doubled thirds will challenge the intermediate pianist. Measures 33 – 40 the left hand moves rapidly and should be previewed before beginning the piece. This also includes some hemiola playing with the left hand playing in 6/8 in triples, and the right hand playing 6/8 in duples.

The optional violin part is set for Level 4. Fingering is marked using 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions. The violin also reinforces the duples in unison with the piano in the hemiolas. The bowing is mostly legato detaché with some brush stroke and martelé used in in the 6/8 section.
