The Magic of Music Theory Book 1 – Violin is a theory workbook for the young violinist who has learned to play by ear and is beginning to read music. Each lesson is structured to reinforce concepts already learned on the instrument. Lessons are designed to be completed at home with the student’s practice partner.

This level is ideal for the student age 7 and up, who is in or above Suzuki Book 2 and has begun reading notes on the staff. They should know the letter names for the A and E String fingerboard and can read the A and E string notes well. They have learned to play a 1 octave scale on their instrument, and have a basic understanding of down bow and up bow.
