Gymnopodie No. 1

Description

A setting of Erik Satie‘s Gymnopodie No. 1 for 2 violins and cello. The first violin carries the melody while the second violin has soft double stops that support the melody. The cello part is the stable soft bass in all dotted half notes. Don’t let the simplicity of this piece deceive you. Understanding of long phrases and bow control are needed allow this piece to sing. Violin parts are set at level 4.
